There’s something magical about the first cool breeze of autumn, and this fall snack mix recipe captures that cozy, inviting feeling in every bite. With a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and crunchy, it’s the ultimate autumn treat to share with family and friends.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
This dump & go fall snack mix is super easy! No need to prepare a glaze and bake in the oven. The kids will go crazy for this, too–mine can’t keep their hands off!
The sweetness from fall flavors like the apple chips, biscotti & caramel cold brew M&Ms, combined with the salty crunchiness of the pretzels & almonds balances out the flavors of this trail mix beautifully. The cinnamon spice from the cereal is the cherry on top!
From After School Treat to Game Day Snack
This autumn trail mix is perfect for so many occasions! Knowing that we are coming up on back to school time, that is a given. My kids can’t keep their hands off this snack mix! They eat around the nuts, though. 😉 Some day, they might get brave enough to eat those, too.
This recipe makes a large quantity that would be perfect to serve as a munchy game day snack for your tailgating parties.
It’s also great for a treat to pack or your fall hikes! My friend and I are planning to do a 13-mile hike along the Mississippi River this fall–you better believe I’m bringing some of this homemade fall snack mix to share!
Autumn Snack Mix Ingredients
This easy dump and go recipe can be made with things from a quick trip to your regular grocery store:
- Miniature Pretzel Twists – Look for the “itty bitty” ones, not the regular pretzel twists.
- Apple Cinnamon Cheerios
- Roasted Almonds
- Glazed Pecans
- Chopped Biscotti – The cookies may leave some crumbs when they are chopped–separate the chopped cookie pieces from the crumbs and just add the cookies!
- Dried Apple Chips
- Dried Cranberries
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Caramel Cold Brew M&Ms
Instructions
This recipe seriously couldn’t be any easier. Just dump everything in a bowl, stir, and you’re good to go!
Variations & Substitutions
The beauty of a homemade autumn trail mix is that you can mix & match ingredients to truly make it your own.
Not a fan of almonds or pecans? Try walnuts or pistachios!
Don’t like Apple Cinnamon Cheerios? You could use Pumpkin Spice Cheerios, or any other fall-flavored cereal you prefer.
Don’t like coffee? You can use regular caramel M&Ms instead of the caramel cold brew flavor.
Can’t find any biscotti? Chop up some Biscoff cookies instead. The possibilities are endless!
