Dutch Oven Shredded Chicken

This easy dutch oven shredded chicken is moist, flavorful, and extremely versatile for so many different uses!

To make this easy dutch oven shredded chicken, you need boneless chicken breasts or thighs, chicken broth, and assorted spices & seasonings.

1. Gather Ingredients

Trim any excess fat off of your chicken and cut into uniform sized pieces if needed. Place in the bottom of a dutch oven.

2. Trim & Prep Chicken

Make sure your chicken pieces are arranged in an even single layer. Add 2 cups of chicken broth into the dutch oven with the pieces of chicken.

3. Add Broth

Add the assorted spices, seasonings, and dried herbs to the dutch oven. Place the lid on the pot.

4. Add Seasonings

Bake the chicken at 375 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature is at least 165 F (for breasts) or 175 F (for thighs).

5. Bake Chicken

When the chicken is done baking, remove the lid from the dutch oven. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.

6. Rest Chicken

Remove the chicken from the pot and shred with 2 forks. Place the chicken back into the pot of juices for serving.

7. Shred Chicken
