To make these delicious, festive cookies, you need oats, whole wheat flour, butter, sugar, molasses, apple sauce, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, and spices.

1. Gather Ingredients

Blend you oats for 8-10 seconds to create a mix of oat flour and oat flakes for your cookies.

2. Pulse Oats in Blender

Add the oats and the rest of your dry ingredients to a bowl. Whisk together and then set it aside while you prep the wet ingredients.

3. Combine Dry Ingredients

Cream together the butter and white * brown sugars. Add the egg, molasses, vanilla, and apple sauce, beating after each addition.

4. Mix Wet Ingredients

Combine your wet and dry ingredients and stir until they form a stiff dough. Refrigerate the dough for 3-4 hours.

5. Add Dry Ingredients to Mixing Bowl

After your dough has been refrigerated, scoop out your cookie balls into even portions with a cookie scoop or spoon. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

6. Scoop Cookie Dough Balls

Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-14 minutes. Remove from oven when there's light cracking on top and the edges are set even if they seem soft in the middle.

7. Bake Cookies

While the cookies are cooling, you can make a simple icing with powdered sugar, 1 tbsp milk, and a splash of vanilla. Whisk until smooth.

8. Make Icing
