High Protein Pasta Bake

This saucy, cheesy pasta bake is packed with protein and fiber while still tasting like the classic comfort food!

To make this delicious pasta bake, we will use lean ground beef, turkey pepperoni, reduced fat cheese, Banza pasta, and other classic ingredients.

1. Gather Ingredients

Start by browning your meat in a large skillet. Cook until no longer pink. Drain fat and remove beef from the skillet. Set aside. Place skillet back on the stove.

2. Brown Meat

Add the bell pepper, onion, and garlic to the skillet and cook veggies until soft. Add the beef back to the skillet with the veggies.

3. Cook Veggies

Add your tomato sauce to the skillet followed by half of your Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Quarter the turkey pepperoni and add to the sauce. Stir it all together.

4. Make Meat Sauce

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil on the stove. Add the Banza pasta and let it boil 5 minutes until al dente.

5. Preheat Oven & Boil Pasta

To a mixing bowl, add the cottage cheese, half of your mozzarella (1 cup), 1 egg, and the rest of the Italian seasoning. Stir.

6. Make Cheese Mixture

To a 9x13 pan, add 1/3 of the sauce and spread out. Add 1/2 of the boiled pasta, then 1/2 of the cheese mix. Repeat, topping with sauce, then remaining cheese.

7. Assemble Pasta Layers

Bake the pasta at 375 degrees F for 15-20 minutes until cheese is starting to lightly brown. Remove from the oven and serve.
